Standing

Miss M likes to stand. She would prefer to stand and walk assisted somewhere rather than crawl.

It wasn't long ago (October) when she was just able to sit up and play in the cabinets!

Once upon a time

Once upon a time, not so long ago, Miss M was a good eater, meaning she ate just about everything that I fed her with the exception of peas and green beans. Now she is getting quite picky. She purses her lips together, turns her head, or just throws it on the floor. Hummmmm. She doesn't dig vegetables. She doesn't like eggs. She doesn't care for chicken. She does like pork products. And bread. And fruit. And Cheerios. And cheese. It sounds like a lot but really it gets old. I feel bad feeding her Cheerios at every meal but I just tell myself it could be worse. She could refuse to eat anything healthy. She can eat a whole thing of raspberries at one meal. It's hard for me to want to put in the effort to cook her new things or remake things she has previously rejected. So Cheerios and raspberries it is! She's eating orange fluff in the picture. Who doesn't love dessert!

Our recent trip

We have been traveling fools and I am exhausted of traveling. I don't want to pack or unpack another suitcase for awhile. A long while. Although I have a feeling it will be sooner than later. Miss M and I flew to Kansas City by ourselves. It wasn't too bad as people were more helpful than when Drew flies with us. I thought I packed light but I could have probably packed lighter. We are definitely not ready for a longer flight by ourselves yet. Miss M really came along with her crawling while in Kansas City as she had places to crawl and things to crawl after. Grandma and Grandpa have a dog. Miss M loves dogs. Therefore, Miss M terrorized the dog. She isn't mean to the dog rather she squeals and flaps and crawls after it. We didn't see much of the dog when Grandpa and Grandpa weren't around. We didn't do a whole lot while we were in Kansas City. We just played with the new (to us) toys! She rode Great Grandma Seipel's rocking horse from when she was a baby. It was just her size.

She discovered blocks hidden in a bucket. Oh yea. And she's been pulling herself up on things and when she feels brave she takes a few steps while assisted by whatever she's holding or transferring to (i.e., the couch or table).

We also took a trip to Grandma's work. She enjoyed meeting all the people and looking at all Grandma's pictures and playing with the toys (i.e., office supplies)!

Overall, it was so much fun and not long enough. Hopefully we will be reporting from home for a little while!- Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

Just because she's sweet

Miss M is becoming more independent everyday as she enjoys playing by herself and not screaming when you leave her to get some stuff done.

Sledding

I was online the other day and a mom stated she bought her baby an infant toboggan for the snow fall. It looked quite adorable and entertaining so Miss M and I loaded up the car and went to Target. We bought the toboggan and ended up in suburbia yesterday to try out the toboggan! Someone had no faith in Miss M enjoying being pulled around in the snow but little does one know she likes to be pushed around in bean bags and laundry baskets. We put on her purple monster outfit and went for a sled ride. She really liked it. Her face doesn't show that she is having fun but she flapped around for a little bit and let us pull her around for 10 minutes or so. Thus we have more stuff to store in our apartment that we don't have room for and entertainment for the winter days!

Double digits

Miss M is ten months old today. Ten months old moves her into the double digits. It's a bit overwhelming but exciting. I can't wait to see what she can do each day. Miss M is much more mobile. She still doesn't crawl on all fours but rather army crawls. She prefers to pull herself up and stand. Standing leads to falling down and falling down leads to bruises. I think she develops new bumps and bruises everyday and to think she's not really that mobile yet. I hope she has a little bit of coordination! I have quickly learned that the more mobile she becomes the more I need to sweep the floors. This does not make me very happy because I don't like sweeping the floor and everything goes directly into her mouth. EVERYTHING. She does enjoy taking everything out of anything. Laundry baskets. Bookshelves. Toy boxes. You get it. Today was Miss M's first snow too. Big day. We got a couple inches. We went out for lunch with a friend. I wonder if she knows that today is different than yesterday. Yesterday we didn't wear coats and it was 55 degrees and today we weren't! Miss M got a pair of pajamas for Christmas. They are a two piece set rather than the footie ones. I love them! They make her seem so old!

Here are a few pictures from today. She's getting so big yet not growing much hair. She still enjoys sticking out her tongue.

New Year

Miss M celebrated her first New Year in Florida with Uncle Craig and Aunt Jessie. It was sunny but not very warm. The biggest downfall of chilly weather in Florida is that there was no frolicking in the pool. There was a fireworks show across the street that we watched and Miss M slept through (thankfully - because it was loud). We saw Great Grandma/Grandpa and Great Uncle Paul. It was nice to see where they spend their winter months. Drew and I proved to be master Euchre players beating Craig and Jessie every night. We went to Sanibel Island one day and relaxed on the beach.

Miss M did not appreciate her toes in the water.

While I am not a fan of those pesky Jawhawks I am a fan of the little girl looking so adorable in Uncle Craig's hat.

We saw Great Grandma/Grandpa. Drew and Craig went on a fishing trip but didn't bring home any fish for dinner. Miss M loves Uncle Craig and he turned into the perfect sized jungle gym at the airport while we waited for our departure.

Overall, it was a great trip and time went by way too fast. Next time we go back with Craig and Jessie there will be a baby!!! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

Raspberries

Miss M enjoys raspberries for any meal. She gets them everywhere and gets excited when I pull them out of the refrigerator.
