Florida - Pool Time

We haven't let the days go by without doing some frolicking.  The pool water is warm. We've only been around in November in the past and the pool is difficult to want to get into. The pool is difficult to want to get out of in April. Now we know when to come back.

Miss M loves playing with everyone in the pool.  She loves screaming and swimming away from Poppy Shark.
She just bobs up and down in the water playing with noodle and squirt guns.
This is Miss M's new act.  You ask her to "cheese" and she gives you this serious face and barely moves her mouth and says cheese really fast and then busts up. She thinks she's HILARIOUS.
 Aren't they cute?
Boys just relaxing in the pool.
He sits still for long enough to snap a picture. He doesn't like to be held down.
Family fun.

 Serious face.

So these pictures have two stories.

1. We bought this life jacket/suit/floaty thing for Miss M when she was a little over a year. We thought we would try to put Mr. Man into it. We had to cram him into it in every way/shape/form. It was horrible. We finally had to take it off him. It's a good thing he had a diaper on to protect him.

2. I noticed that Mr. Man liked drinking water from the Tervis and so when he got fussy in the pool I wanted to get him some water so I filled up his Tervis from Grandma's glass.  It wasn't for at least ten minutes when Andrew asked where his water came from. I said it came from Grandma's glass to which Grandma overheard and came rushing over to find out what cup I had used.  We determined Mr. Man was sucking down a Vodka Press. Yikers.  He wasn't complaining so why would I have thought it wasn't water.
Happy face. I guess Vodka does that for ya.

Florida...Mr. Man

Mr. Man's been pretty happy while he's been here. He's been cruising all around. He's been walking a lot. He wants to walk instead of crawl these days.  It could be the concrete floors or he could just want to actually walk. He wants to hold your hands and walk all around. When he walks with your hands he almost runs. We could be in trouble.
He loves when people pay attention to him.

He can also look so serious. I want to eat either face.
I could do without this face.  We ran him into the urgent care facility here in Florida to make sure his ear infections were in fact gone because while he is happy he has had a few moments of being a terror. His ears looked fine enough but the doctor took sympathy on me and wrote me a Rx for some medicine.
He enjoyed chewing on lemons at lunch until he choked a little on some rind. Whoops.
He woke Poppy up and drank his bottle all cozied in his bed.
He did not smile and laugh when he got in the pool with me. He, however, enjoyed the pool with his daddy. He and Miss M are very much daddy's babies. It's really cute but really annoying/sad when you're the momma especially when the daddy isn't around for most of the week.

And since we usually got in the pool while he was asleep he usually ended up in the pool as a naked baby.  He likes being a naked baby.

There are three adults to two kids tomorrow when we fly home so even if his ears hurt surely we can handle this.

Florida...a little girl with a lot of Sass

Oh Miss M has so much sass. There's so much sass in one little girls body it's unreal.  It's funny. It's frustrating. It's exhausting.

The why's are also exhausting.  She talks all day long. I am not sure she's quiet except for when the tv is playing.  I can't keep up with the questions. Here's an example from a book we read that has a toad in it.

Me (reading from book): ...big green toad...
Miss M:  What's a toad
Me: a frog with bumps (we're not getting technical)
Miss M: what's a frog with bumps
Me: a toad
Repeat for five minutes or until I stop responding and just turn the page.

Miss M found Grandma Nan's baby.
Her nasty blanket needs thrown in the trash - but why make my life more difficult
 Pickle face
 Sass in her floaty.
Trying not to pose or smile in her new dress.
The humidity is doing amazing things to Miss M's hair. We're going to need recommendations on hair product for curly hair before it gets too hot.

Florida - Day ?

I am lost on what day it is and how long we've been here. We could get used to this life.

Grandma got all the toys out for the kids. Miss M loves having tea parties with water. I have never seen the girl drink so much water. Apparently we just need to have tea parties with water to get her to drink water.

She wanted to pour everyone some tea.
We got in the pool again the next morning. Miss M played for awhile then told me she had to go to the bathroom. I am happy she's not too distracted and pees in the pool. No one wants pee in the pool.  She told me she was done swimming so we took off her suit to dry.  She then wanted to sit on the edge and put her toes in the water. She started playing with fire when she was getting up and down and moving about too much without a floaty. She decided she needed back in the pool but she needed to be naked.  I imagine she's not the first person to swim naked in this pool.
Grandma bought her new panties and for some reason she thinks she needs to put them on her head. She comes out of her bedroom throughout the day with a new pair on her head telling us she got a new hat or a new bandana.
Mr. Man likes crawling and trying to walk all over the place.
We really haven't done a whole lot but swim, eat snacks, eat meals, look for fish, eat gelatto, and relax. It's quite the life. It's wearing the kids out!

Florida - Day 1

The kids are happy to be naked or partially dressed again.  Mr. Man had a special chair waiting for him when we arrived so he could eat snacks with us on the lanai.
Miss M wanted nothing more than to go swimming as soon as she walked in the door.
She had a lot of fun with Poppy in the pool. She was a relatively good sport about being splashed in the face. Poppy plays a little rougher than she's used to but it's good for her to be harassed by someone other than Mr. Man.

She played in the pool for over three hours the first day. We had to bribe her to get out of the pool.
Poppy told her he could do a handstand in the pool.  She kept asking him to do it over and over again. He might need to practice a little bit more. He struggled to get his legs out of the water. But I give him props for trying.

After we played in the pool we went out front and played with Grandma's lawn decorations for Easter. Mr. Man was semi-obsessed with the giant eggs she had scattered around the lawn.

Flying to Florida

I had through it was a grand idea to fly to Florida the morning after Easter-Palooza. It was a bit intense to get everything cleaned up, finish laundry and pack all of us after a full day of people and fun but it got done. The kids and I flew with Aunt Nessie b/c she's on spring break and I am not crazy enough to think that flying with two kids by myself is a good idea.

Everything went really smooth. There were no problems. I barely stressed. The kids were almost angels.

We had assigned seats and Aunt Nessie and Miss M sat by each other and Mr. Man and I were across the aisle. It worked out really well b/c we could put Mr. Man in the aisle and let him hold on to both chairs without disturbing anyone.

Miss M was nervous for take off and landing so she insisted on holding Aunt Nessie's hand. It was pretty precious.

The girls played cards. Miss M informed Aunt Nessie that Q is for Queen and Grandma Nan is the Queen.  At least the girl has her place in life figured out early.
Aunt Nessa let Mr. Man terrorize her for a little bit.

The girls rested.
 Mr. Man rested.
It was a winning flight for everyone. Thankfully my seat mates didn't need to use the lavatory while Mr. Man slept.  They were probably just as happy he'd fallen asleep as I was. He woke up with about 20 minutes left of the flight.

Dying Easter Eggs

It just seemed reasonable to buy an egg dying kit at Target. Miss M loves crafts and I like when she's not watching tv.

She loved it. It was a mess because she couldn't use the awkward spoon and b/c the dye stains.
She was pretty patient at waiting for the eggs to dye.

I left the dye on the table b/c I was going to boil more eggs to dye. Big mistake. We were eating lunch and she was playing around with the dye after being told 892 times to be careful and pay attention.  Sure enough she knocked the pink dye over and it spilled all over her, her white chair and the floor. As mentioned above, the dye stains. I was so irritated. She tried to give me a hug and tell me how much she loved me but at the moment I didn't really care. Thankfully Mr. Clean magic erasers rescued her and got the pink dye out of everything.
