So, I am terrified I am going to jinx myself by writing this blog post but I am busting at the seams with the excitement of potential! Yes, just potential.
Last night we put Miss M in her crib awake with her blankets and a stuffed dog. I know you're not supposed to put things in cribs with infants but she needs something to soothe her (and I am hoping one of the many items I put in there does the trick).
This is how it went.
I laid her down in her crib.
She cried.
I went in and just patted her
She cried some more
She stopped crying - yep - stopped crying
That episode lasted less than 25 minutes.
I rushed to bed hoping for a few minutes of uninterrupted sleep in my bed without her in my armpit.
She whimpered and cried a little. Not hysterical. But I went in to check on her and her eyes were open. I nursed her back to sleep (we're focused on sleeping in her own crib - we'll worry about breaking the nursing habit later). When I heard her start whimpering it was 1:30am. Yes folks. 1:30 am. That means she slept for 5 hours without interruption. Ahh. Glorious.
Then she woke up and I nursed her back to sleep around 5:30 am.
Each time the transfer back into the crib was pretty smooth.
She woke up at 7:30 happy as a clam.
This is a baby book entry. First night in crib. Why don't they have a sticker for that event. It's monumental around here.
So far tonight she's been in the crib asleep for a little over an hour. I will let you know how things go but for now this momma needs to catch some Z's before Miss M wakes up again.
Peace out.
