This wasn't even half the disaster the house was in after we unloaded the car. I had the babysitter who's back from college come and take the kids to the library so I could take down Christmas decorations and sort through old and new toys.
We had a new back door put in and the kids and I were forced to eat in the dining room. I had a revelation while eating there that meals could be less stressful if we started doing all meals in the dining room. Meals had become such a nightmare. The kids were crawling all over the bench, pulling out random craft projects mid-meal, running around. Moving to the dining room isn't ideal b/c I have to walk everything to and from, but it might cut down on the running back and forth and get the kids participating in helping set and clean up the table. They've sat in their seats thus far. We shall see if we can make some new years changes that stick. I could use something to help make meal times less miserable.
The kids love to put raspberries on their fingers and eat them off. Cate started putting them on herself after watching the other yahoos.
She wants nothing more than to be physical. The more dangerous the better.
We had a NYE play date with Miss M's best friend(s). Anwen has life sized Frozen dolls. I find them creepy. The girls find them amazing.
We made it back to the gym on New Years Day. Drew was supporting all of Iowa with his Kirkwood shirt and his Hawkeye shorts.
Post holiday creates for sleepy babies. She was not happy with me when I tried to wake her up at 9:30pm. Cate went to bed around 9:00pm or a little after on New Years Day. We had friends over to watch the football game and they stayed until midnight so the big two didn't get to bed until after midnight. They were a treat today!
Cate is such a good sleeper. She loves to sleep. She really is a clone of her daddy.
