Camp out day!

We had signed up for the annual campout at the arboretum.  On the day of the campout there was a 30-40% chance of rain in the middle of the night.  I didn't have the capacity to deal with a chance of rain with three kids in a tent.  We also had a 1pm flight the next day so staying home was easier.  We decided to move the campout to Miss M's friend's house.

First we made bird feeders out of cut up paper towel rolls, peanut butter and bird seed.  The kids did a great job doing the project themselves and then hanging them outside for the birds.

The kids then ended up in the front lawn picking berries off the bushes. I have no idea what the goal was but they were being scientists and discovering things so I let them.  I did make sure to tell Cater not to eat the berries.
We moved to the campout site.  The kids roasted their own hotdogs and marshmallows over the grill. we didn't have a fire pit but this portable grill worked perfect b/c there were no open flames.
Dinner time!

We ended the night attempting to campout in the attic.  The kids laid out their sleeping backs and pillows where they wanted them and settled in for the night.  In an ideal world that's how it would have ended instead number 2 and number 3 kept talking and moving and shuffling and being annoying.  I ended up sending them home with Andrew to sleep in their own bed. I slept in the attic with the girls and everyone lived happily ever after.
