Easter-Palooza round 2

We hosted Easter-Palooza again this year. It was every bit as fun and wonderful this year as it was last year or more so b/c the kids are older, there are more kids and the weather couldn't have been better.

Easter-palooza couldn't have been done without the help and hard work of Aunt Nessie and Aunt Shannon. They worked themselves crazy while I sat in a chair most of the day in a daze from being up late and often the night before.

I decided I needed to update the iPad for our trip to Florida the day after Easter-palooza at 11pm at which time I decided I needed to find Andrew's flight itinerary.  I couldn't find one anywhere which sent me into a panic. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't imagine telling Andrew we were going to have to pay out the ears for a flight to Florida b/c he did have a flight home from Florida. He said it was on his calendar so there had to be a flight. I didn't believe him. He doesn't speak too clearly in the middle of the night.  Then both kids were up during the night and really it was all a blur.

The kids played outside all day.
We had a total of 14 adults for dinner and 8 kids over the age of 1 and 4 kids under the age of 1. The kids did so much better at the egg hunt this year than last year. The problem with last year was they didn't to hunt the eggs after they found 2 or 3 with treats inside of them. This year the kids got smart and pulled the treat out of the egg then threw the empty egg back on the ground.  There were cracked eggs and melted chocolate everywhere. I had been warned about using chocolate and leaving them in the sun too long but we hadn't seen a day of weather decent enough to melt chocolate in six months. I didn't really think too much of it. It was gross. I ended up throwing all the eggs away this year. We can start from scratch next year and we'll do less eggs. I think we had about 100 eggs hidden in our yard again which was too many for 8 three year olds.

Easter-Palooza wears us all out. She needed to take a rest and watch a show while her friends ran around like crazies. I think she ran into her friend while they were playing chase and it re-bruised her cheek that she hurt a couple weeks ago.  She complained it hurt again.  A rest did her good and she was asleep in bed by 6:30pm.  Win for everyone.
