We played outside. I haven't made it known via the blog that he's walking on his own. He is walking on his own, without assistance, and minimal crawling. He can bend over and pick things up and stand back up.
He loves to play with balls. If he's upset and you ask him to find a ball he calms down and toddles over to the ball and picks it up and is happy again.
He's babbling more and more but saying a whole lot of nothing.
He went to the dr for his one year check up and while it was a terrible, horrible, miserable experience for both of us due to shots, blood draws, no naps, Miss M falling off the spinning dr chair, and other issues we learned he weighs 26 lbs (95%) and is almost 31 inches tall (85%) and his head is consistent - large.
He's generally a happy fella and he loves when people pay attention to him.
He insists on going up the slide. But the dude gets so ticked off when he gets nowhere.
It's tradition to go to the Golden Arches for birthdays for the kids. I took Miss M there when she turned one and well the little guy shouldn't get left out. We didn't go in and sit and enjoy a Happy Meal but he did enjoy a sundae with me.
Miss M led the charge on opening all of Mr. Man's presents. He didn't mind. He was interested in the wrapping paper and the boxes.Andrew was able to come home early to eat dinner with us for his birthday. He brought him an ice cream cake.
He never really ate the cake rather he did a lot of smashing it around in his hands...
...and spreading it all over his body.
I think this picture is funny b/c of how the party hat strap cuts into his fat little head.
It took two runs of a bath to get him clean. The first run of bath water was to just get the blue off and the second one was to actually clean him. He had fun playing in his cake until he dug his hands in the cake and left them there too long and the coldness finally got to him.
Happy Birthday little buddy.
