Just another Tuesday

I think it's safe to say that Miss Cate is starting to want an earlier bedtime which is fine with me. It means that all kids should be quietly slumbering by at least 9pm and she will get up around 7am instead of sleeping until 10am. There are perks to her sleeping until 10am but I don't think it's necessarily a habit we want to create.

She's making squawking noises these days. It's fun to listen to her talk to herself.  She loves when people talk to her. She smiles and gets so happy. I don't recall Miss M or Big Will being like that at all.  She's just happy with whatever attention she can get.  Around here attention can be slim unless Big Will is sleeping or sucking down a bottle of milk.
We broke out Miss M's old purple people eater suit for the winter cold. It's definitely been cold enough. It's too big for her as it's sized to fit 6-12 months but I am not spending the money on another one...yet.  She looks like she might enjoy the car ride to pick Miss M up from school but I can promise you that by the time we made it to the first stop sign all signs of happy were gone.
Big Willie likes to pretend various things are phones.  He makes a lot of phone calls during the day and this evening he found a calculator and insisted that Miss Cate talk to his people.
I went upstairs for less than 5 minutes to lay Miss Cate down for a late afternoon/evening nap and when I returned I found two kids don the counters.  Miss M was putting oranges in measuring cups and Big Willie was pulling out every sucker from the cabinet.  I don't know which is worse: when he pushes the button on the Keurig for coffee when no cup is there to catch it or fighting him to get off the counter tops.  The tower the kids stand in to raise them to counter height was amazing for Miss M but now that she can teach her brother less than ideal things I think it needs to find a home in a closet.  It might take them a couple days to figure out they can just push a chair to the counter but I will delight in those couple days.
Miss M's school does a cookie walk fundraiser each year.  The school puts out the cookie walk man to advertise the event to the public and the kids love him. Miss M insisted she have her picture taken with him today on our way home from school.

Oh and she got a new jacket. I love it. It's so adorable. It's serious pink trimmed with orange. It's really thin but is supposed to keep her warm up to negative 20 degrees. I had bought her a coat before it got really cold but it didn't work for me.  It was way too bulky for the car seat. It's hard enough buckling her in the middle seat but fighting a bulky coat was a deal breaker so off to Nordstrom we traveled. It's much more manageable for both of us.
