I had a reservation for Miss Cate at the gym for 9am Saturday morning. A reservation for an infant (until they are walking) is required at the gym which is nice b/c it makes you go but isn't so nice when you want to go and all the infant slots are filled. I had packed the night before so I was ready. I wasn't going to miss my appointment!
Miss Cate and Andrew were still sleeping at 8:40 am when I was walking out the door so it just ended up being me and the big two.
While we waited for 8:40 to arrive I asked Miss M to write Santa a letter with her Christmas wish so we could mail it to him. She has been set on Santa bringing her a Doc Mobile. It's the latest and greatest toy I guess. She saw it in the Target toy ad and I am sure she sees it flash in and out while she watches her shows on Disney Jr. They aren't stupid. They know how to suck those kids in. It works every time. She wrote out all the letters with my help in spelling them only. I was pretty impressed. I didn't know she could make some of the letters i.e. a small e. She's learning so much from school. I better buy her teachers an extra nice gift this year!
I think this Doc Mobile is the toy of the year as it isn't available online anywhere unless you want to pay 3X's what it actually costs. I searched every store I could think. I searched every zip code of family members who would be willing to go search down a present and mail it to us. It was nowhere.
I had complained to Grandma D and Andrew that we need to find this thing. Miss M is determined this is what Santa is bringing her and it was the only thing she asked for in her letter. I told her she should ask for a few things in case Santa couldn't get a Doc Mobile. She looked at me like I was dumb and told me that the elves build the toys. Oh. Of course. There's always going to be what she wants b/c Santa and the Elves build it. Good thing she didn't ask for a horse.
Grandma D came to the rescue to save Christmas. She happened to be walking around the toy store and found a stack of them in the aisle. We had both looked to see if they were in stock in her store. The website said sold out. Phew. Problem solved.
Later in the day after Grandma already had purchased the Doc Mobile my friend Jill came over and told me how she couldn't find the Doc Mobile anywhere. I knew just who to call. Grandma went to the toy store shortly after we hung up and picked up the last one. Grandma D saved Christmas for two little girls. She's our Christmas hero.
We had a birthday party to attend for her star room classmate/friend. It was a Frozen themed party. She doesn't have princess dresses so she wore her Frozen shirt. She isn't really into dressing up in princess dresses rather just the tiara and jewelry.
They also made crowns. I made Miss M take hers off b/c they used glitter glue in the making of the crowns. It takes approximately 83 days for glitter glue to dry properly. If you touch it before the proper 83 days as passed you will surely get glue on your hands which will end up smeared all over some piece of furniture. These two girls better be pretty darned excited to get Doc Mobiles for Christmas. They both play with the Doc Station toy that Miss M got from Santa last year all the time.
