The planning of Craig's 30th birthday surprise party/trip has been in the works since February. The other children each got a 30th birthday and we didn't want Craig to be left out. We didn't want the baby of the family to get the shaft as is what usually happens to the last child.
Jessie helped get Craig to Nashville by blindfolding him and taking back roads on the way out of STL to confuse him. She said he kept the blindfold on for an hour and a half which is pretty impressive since he can be a stubborn mule.
While they drove we ate and drank at 12th Street Tap Room. Larry, Sally, Randy and Nan picked us up from the airport and we enjoyed a low key lunch before the evening festivities started.
Waiting at the bar across the street from the designated location to meet Craig. Margaritas!
Look how big Randy's head looks compared to mine. It's possible it's bc of the camera angle but it's also possible his head is just large.
Uncle LARRY!!! Just finishing any left over drinks before we head to surprise Craig.
What a good looking group of people.
Big Papa. These people aren't novices at bar hopping. They take their own coozies wherever they go.
Craig has no idea even though he has to be looking at us. Jessie is proud of herself. She did it!
Wait - it's starting to register.
Well. Hot damn. He's figured it out! And he was surprised. It was impressive we managed to keep it a surprise bc he is notorious for ruining surprises.
Craig and Andrew. They are quite the pair. Craig likes to make fun of Andrew's bald head and apparently he took to kissing his bald head while in Nashville.
Jessie remembered that Craig's high school friend lived in Nashville so we reached out to her and she was able to meet us both Friday and Saturday. Everyone loves having old friends celebrate their birthday with them.
Andrew and I bailed early in the evening and let the other ones party into the night while we went home and went to bed. We were preparing for what was to come on Saturday.
