Eating brownies on the couch where he is not supposed to be eating.
Ice cream TuesdayI finally broke down and let them ride in the enormous carts at the grocery store.
Pros:The carts were easy enough to drive. Kids didn't run wild around the store
Cons: No room for Kit-Kat. Held minimal groceries.
Grandma came up to visit. She agreed to watch the kids Sunday morning while we had a triathlon. We had to leave at 5:30 am so we were thankful she came b/c finding a babysitter willing to agree to come that early was impossible.
We had to pick up our race packets in Naperville and so the whole family went on a trip. They had multiple decorated '57 Chevy's throughout the downtown. The kids ran to each of the cars like they were on fire. They also fought b/c Miss M insisted she was supposed to be the driver and Big Willie was supposed to be the passenger. Big Willie revolted and all hell broke loose.
The triathlon was a sprint relay. It was more fun than anything. The fellas - team Y before X - rocked it with 4th out of 8th place. Kev swam, Drew ran, Steve biked.
The women also crushed the race with a 7th out of 14th place. Jill ran, I swam, Helen biked. It was interesting doing the triathlon in the same place I did my first triathlon so many pre-children years ago. The swim was much better as the water was bout 20 degrees warmer and I didn't have a panic attack in the water. I did, however, get kicked in the face by a man who was wearing swim shoes which was quite unpleasant. I was happy not to complete the entire race but I am excited about getting back into doing triathlons in the future.
I love these people.
It wasn't 30 minutes after we stepped foot in the house that grandma bolted. She claimed she had to get back to Iowa before the traffic started. It was 11:30am. Hummmm. I smell a white lie.
