Jill turned 40 this weekend. Steve planned for her and I to get our nails done and go to lunch Saturday afternoon. Then Saturday evening Steve had made reservations for the four of us to go to dinner. I would say we were lucky enough to get an invitation but I think we invited ourselves along. I don't care how it happened I am just happy I could spend the day with my Jill.
Andrew and I got up early Sunday morning to ride our bikes. We had signed up for a local 50 mile ride. It was fun and challenging. We learned some new routes too which will help in the future.
We got home from our ride around 11:45 and we out the door by 12:30 thanks to Kayleen having the kids fed, packed, and ready to roll after we showered up. We had 2:30pm tickets to ride on Thomas the Train at the Illinois Train Museum. Thomas the Train comes around for two weekends once a year. The museum was interesting. It would have been fun to walk through the old coach cars and read about the old cable cars but three kids under 4.5 years old aren't into that sort of thing yet.
Each of the kids got to pick out a Thomas tattoo. Miss M and Kit-Kat got Rosie b/c she's pink of course.
The ride on Thomas was pretty uneventful. It was hot. The kids saw Thomas and enjoyed it so that's really all that mattered. The total train ride was probably 20 minutes. The cars that the passengers rode on were old train cars with the original ads/poster/ads and seats and handles to hold while standing.
Sass and attitude.
Me and my train loving little fella.
Family picture with Thomas.
I guess Percy is an addition to the Day out with Thomas scene this year. He was only an extra $10 to ride (we didn't ride). Big Will was pretty pumped about Percy's presence. This picture was taken right before we headed to the car and packed it up for the day. Big Will has no pants on and no shoes on. He was a trooper for a guy who didn't get a nap. He didn't have one freak out. He just went with the flow. It was encouraging to see that he can act civil in public as he doesn't seem to be able to at home.
This week is shaping up to be busy again. Hopefully I will be able to take some pictures and post them before a month lapses. Hopefully I will be able to go to the gym and sit on the sun deck. It's all about balance. Or so they say.

Oh yay!! Will got to ride on Thomas!! I'm so happy you found this for him!!
