I never really understood oppressive heat until I visited Florida in July. Humidity. Sure we talk about it here in the midwest but the humidity I've known my entire life is nothing like the humidity of Florida. I rented a bike and maintained my training program while in Florida. Andrew and I agreed if I can train in Florida then race day should be no problem!
Anyway. We woke the kids up around 5:00 to jump in the taxi and head to the airport. The big two woke up alright. The littlest one was her usually crabby self.
Miss M is into wearing my clothes as nightgowns. The green shirt is my shirt which she looped over her head to make fit her. It's super cute on her and looks like it should be her shirt and not mine.
Our regular routine while in Florida consisted of me getting up while it was dark to run/bike/swim while the kids slept. Will woke around 7:00 on the dot every morning. Ate breakfast, swam, ate lunch, nap, swim, eat, bedtime. We were consistent and loved every minute of it.
Girl loved her goggles. In and out of the pool.
We even made it out on the boat one day. While we were out riding around we saw two pods of dolphins swimming around the boat. It was awesome they were so close b/c the kids could see them instead of us trying to point and explain something like why the sky is blue. Explaining why the sky is blue is about as easy as getting a kid to see something right in front of them.
The kids were awesome about wearing life jackets on the boat. Cate threw a fit for a few minutes but accepted it for what it was and moved on with her complaints.
