Pumpkin Patch 2016!!!!!!

Andrew had a mid-afternoon flight in the middle of the week. I was able to kidnap him from the airport and bring him home with me so he couldn't go back to work.  The kids were excited to see him so I got us all packed and as soon as Miss M got off the bus and we drove to the pumpkin patch.  The pumpkin patch is an hour away.

It was the best decision! The pumpkin patch was open until 9pm so we had plenty of time since we arrived around 5pm.  There was essentially no one there so we didn't have to wait in any lines.  I was so happy. I had contemplated taking Miss M out of school to go to the pumpkin patch b/c going on the weekend sounds like the most miserable idea ever.  We've been.  We won't do it again until our kids can all use the bathroom without assistance.

 Frog Ride.
 Spinning Honey Pots.

 She was in it.
 Train ride.

 Everyone's favorite. Corn box!
The amount of dirt and corn we took home was impressive.

One day their heads will fit in the holes without standing on a pumpkin or their tip toes.

A pink John Deere tractor. What more could a girl ask for in life.

We bought a lot of pumpkins.  We bought at least three decorative pumpkins. We bought at least a half dozen mini pumpkins/gourds. We bought the kids each a pumpkin to carve.  We didn't have our pumpkins a week before my nemesis, the squirrels, destroyed the pumpkins.  I had to throw most of them away because they were so gross.  It's sad.  We will have to buy more pumpkins closer to Halloween and Google a way to keep squirrels away (or destroy them).

Family pumpkin carving the week after we went to the patch. I didn't even get a picture of the finished pumpkins before the squirrels ate through them. Miss M's friend A and her mom came over to carve pumpkins with us.  Nothing says a party like the adults carving all the pumpkins while the kids play inside.
