Thanksgiving in Florida pt.1

We flew to Florida for the Thanksgiving week again this year.

It was marvelous.

There are usually more family members there but this year it was just the four of us and Aunt Jessie, Uncle Craig and Cousin Jack.

At the airport we bought Miss M a pair of headphones for her to watch the iPad on the plane. The plane is loud and we've been asked to turn it down before. She loved them. She requests to wear them in the house now when she uses the iPad. It's kind of nice because I would prefer not to listen to the same show for the 800th time but at the same time I like the noise so then I know what she's watching.  She asked me to buy her clay-play the other day and I was so confused. I had no idea what she was talking about.  She told me Calliou (a character on a show) plays with it so I had to go through all the shows looking for what she was referring too. Sure enough, she was wanting me to buy her clay.

We hung out at the house a lot since Aunt Jessie and Andrew had to work Monday and Tuesday. It's not too bad hanging out at the house when it's 80 degrees and sunny and there's a pool.

The kids liked playing with the Christmas tree across the street from the gelatto store. Thankfully the ornaments were zip tied on so we didn't have to worry as much about the kids breaking them.
Mr. Man didn't appreciate being fed peas. Eeww.
Miss M slept in a blow-up toddler bed.  Well that's where she was designated to sleep.  The first night when Andrew and I went to bed he had to pick her up off the floor (next to the bed) and put her back in. Then in the middle of the night I hear muffled crying.  I freaked out and woke Andrew up (somehow men sleep through everything). He found her under the bed. She managed to roll herself under the bed and get stuck. It was frightening. The next night we put pillows next to the bed to try and contain her.  She was contained the rest of the week but there were multiple days we found her on the floor only half under the bed.  Her head is the little blond thing poking out of the blue blanket (towel).

We attempted the beach one day but it just turned into a disaster. The wind was blowing and thus sand was blowing everywhere. I walked about 20 feet onto the sand and ended up with sand in my teeth. I didn't want to get sand everywhere and I didn't want it to bother the kids so we left. We ended up going to lunch with Craig, Jessie and Jack. On the way home Miss M and I rode in Grandma Nan's convertible to run errands while Andrew and Jessie and the baby boys went home to nap. Miss M was not impressed with the convertible.

This is before we took off. She's waving to Grandma Nan for a picture.

This is after we started moving. She requested we get inside the car. She hated the wind in her hair.  She asked for us to roll up the windows after I told her we were inside the car.
Eventually she found a towel and rode like this to avoid the wind blowing her around.
