The annual Turkey Trot is held Thanksgiving morning. Everyone always complains that we have to get up early and get the kids up early but we do it anyway. This year was no different. Next year, however, will be different. Jessie and the kids are staying home!!! Thanks for being the team player Jess!
It was so cold when we woke up Thanksgiving morning. It was probably between 40-45 degrees. It was miserable. Just miserable. We persevered.
We wrapped Miss M up in Mr. Man's blanket since he was strapped to me before the race and I could keep him semi-warm.
Jack was cold and not thrilled with this decision that he didn't get a vote in.We look good. We weren't able to get a post-race picture because as we were moving to the starting line Jack & Mr. Man were not happy they had to sit in strollers and Miss M begged to go back to Poppy's. It was going to be a long hour before we got back to the car (at the earliest) so we called it a day. We did a drive-thru at the donut shop and went home and warmed up.
We had a nice feast prepared by Jessie. It wasn't a full on turkey dinner but turkey, mashed potatoes, and cranberries were all involved so it was perfect. It was most perfect because all three kids were sleeping while we ate without having to yell - get back to the table, eat one more bit, just try it, how do you know you don't like it - you haven't tried it, don't throw your food and other similar things you say to 2 year olds who won't sit still and just eat dinner.
