The five of us loaded up our suitcases and jumped in a cab and headed to Florida. Andrew wasn't able to stay the week with us as he had to come back and make some bacon. The kids and I had so much fun. The kids loved being outside and playing in the pool and just not being locked inside a house all day long.
We got gelato.
The kids were more than happy to go for walks multiple times a day. They usually ended up walking instead of the rolling in the stroller but taking the stroller was necessary. They ended up picking leaves off of every bush/tree we came across.
It was like herding cats to get them to move to the next bush/tree.
Kit-Kat and I just followed along and let them do whatever it was they wanted to do b/c everyone was happy.
Grandma taught Miss M how to make an X-Ray of the leaves by coloring over them. It was a bit difficult b/c the leaves that live in Florida don't have very good veins for making an X-Ray but Miss M loved it regardless.
Grandma and Miss M played some cards.
Big Willie found a can of tennis balls to throw around and chase.
Pure happiness and joy which makes my heart purely happy and joyous.
The kids got new summer shoes. I am in love with the shop across the street. Big Willie wasn't impressed with the flip flops fitting between his toes initially but somehow Grandma got him to wear them and they became his shoe of choice.
The kids were so great about wearing their floatation devices. Both of the kids understood and knew the rules about when and where life jackets/floaties needed to be worn and there wasn't any complaining.
