View from the castle tower.
Andrew is adamant that the goats aren't billy goats but they might as well be. Look at their skills.
Andrew making friends with the people we met at the top of the tower.
The table ready for the birthday dinner. We had a quail-type bird and a spinach-potato side. I was a bit leary at first but the food was delicious.
Kent gave a speech giving thanks for everything and then the floor was opened for anyone to tell their favorite Kent stories. There were so many stories. There were tears of happy memories around the table. Andrew stood up and told the stories of his motorcycle trips across the states with Kent when he'd never risen a motorcycle before. It truly is amazing Andrew is alive after those trips.
I wanted to have someone take a picture of the two of us but as usual I was tired and wanted to go to bed and Andrew wanted to stay up and tell stories.
Friday was a travel day. We drove back to Frankfurt b/c we had an early flight and I was worried about getting up early enough to navigate the trip, take the rental car back and get checked in. We ended up at the Sheridan across the street from the airport which was convenient and wonderful.
We made it home and even got economy premium on our trip home so we had extra leg room and eye masks and fancy televisions and extra food and drinks. It was kind of awesome.
We got a cab, dropped our bags, repacked a small bag and loaded up the car to go get the kids from Keokuk. And now it's back to normal as we know it.
