Summer Playtime Pictures

Walking to Monkey Island (the extra-wide median with trees) by our house is a favorite activity by both Big Willie and Miss M so we hit it quite frequently. Miss M likes the idea of climbing trees (even though I put her in the tree) and so tweedle-dee wants to get in the tree too.  Lifting and setting a 30+ pound kid into a tree is not that easy when you have a 20+ pound kid strapped to your chest. 

Miss M is once again enrolled in gymnastics. It works out pretty well b/c the little two and I can walk around or leave since we don't have to be there with her.  She's not scared of the balance beam much anymore.  She scurries right across it without having anyone near by or holding her hand.  She needs to practice looking up while she walks but she's getting the hang of it slowly. Big Willie was signed up for gymnastics but we didn't make it to one of his sessions. There's always the next four week session - which we will miss the first class.

Everyone needs a sweet treat after gymnastics so we headed to our favorite ice cream store.  Big Willie is obsessed with getting this blue ice cream. It's disgusting. I can eat almost anything with sugar but this stuff about puts me over the edge. It wouldn't be a problem if Miss M got the disgusting blue ice cream b/c she can eat a cone without even needing a napkin.  This is not the case for Big Willie. I have to lick the cone to get the runny parts off so it's to all over him.  I am going to have to work on my persuasion skills.

This chicks shirt is one of his favorites. He wants to wear it almost every day and to bed also.

Miss M finished her cone and decided to dance for us.  She's crazy.  The girl does not stop moving, singing, dancing, or talking unless a television show is on. There are hours in the day when I need to turn on the television for my sanity. I have convinced her we need to watch more educational programs for Big Willie's sake b/c watching another Jake and the Neverland Pirates might cause me to be certifiable.

The water in the backyard is still a hit between the pool, the water table, the slippy slide (as Miss M refers to it) and the watering of plants I suspect our water bill to be astronomical.

Big Willie still loves reading books. Miss M likes to read too but she's less likely to just snuggle up on the couch in the middle of the day to read.  I need to sort through their books and try to organize them a little by age b/c there aren't a lot of older kid books for Miss M. It is possible they are hiding amongst all the crap thus needing to organize them.

Big Willie found Busy Town and likes looking at all the cars and trucks on each page.  We have to limit him to a few pages b/c the book is so long and we can spend way too long on one page to make it through the entire book.
