Play

Kit-Kat.  She's everywhere these days.  She's pulling herself up onto her knees with no problem and there are some times when we walk into her room to get her out of bed and find she's pulled herself up to standing. And she's so loud now.  She shrieks just to shriek. She sounds like a Pterodactyl.  It's out of control.  She sounds unhappy or in pain but rather she's just making noise to keep up. She also puts everything in her mouth. She see the smallest things on the ground and beelines to it and grabs it with her tiny semi-uncoordinated fingers and shoves it in her mouth.  She also seems to be the child who likes to eat the most.  Big Willie never really enjoyed being in his high chair to eat. But I can put her in the high chair and as long as I keep food on her try or keep feeding her she stays relatively content.
The middle school is a block away and each year they do a parade or two and the parade route is down our street.  They do an ethnic parade in the spring.  Thankfully I looked outside and noticed people lining the streets to watch the parade so we didn't miss it. The kids and I set up chairs and watched the parade.  Andrew was out for a run.  They fought over who got the mini Iowa chair.  I got it all sorted out with bribes and threats.
The fire truck was first in line. Big Willie was so confused and fascinated and possibly scared that he didn't move as it slowly crept by while blaring the sirens.
The parade was about 5 or 10 minutes long so after the parade we traveled to the backyard to play where kids can be contained. I wish children weren't so finicky about wearing hats.  Since all of my children are bald or close enough to bald I worry their baby heads will sunburn.
Well here we've convinced one to wear a hat but no shirt.
She loves eating dirt and mulch and grass and well the list doesn't end.
Yummy.
Now that Kit-Kat is interactive and mobile Miss M is way more into her.  She likes to play peek-a-boo with her and talk to her in the loudest decibel.  And she just wants to hold her but now Kit-Kat doesn't want to be contained.
