It's closing in on the end of the school year. It's hard to believe that the school year is almost over. I am going to be so sad to say good-bye to Miss M's teachers but am comforted in knowing that they should still be around in the years ahead for Big Willie and Kit-Kat. The circle room threw their spring tea party for the children's families Thursday afternoon from 2:00-2:45pm.
I bathed almost all the kids and got them all dressed in their finest clothes that fit. We had to play inside and eat quesadillas for lunch to ensure no one got dirty before the big event. Big Willie is obsessed with Hi-Ho Cherrio (the game) and Miss M is obsessed with taking pictures.
This is a picture Miss M took of Big Willie. You can see how thrilled he is to have her screaming at him to smile every 2 seconds.
She was able to capture this picture of Big Willie attacking me. Look at those eyes. So big. So brown. So sweet.Andrew was able to join us for spring tea this year which was awesome. Miss M wanted to invite him and I told her she could but we couldn't be sure that Dad was going to be able to make it. We never know how busy he will be time comes around. I also appreciated that he was there to help me man the kids. Big Willie loves his daddy. And his baseball hats. And his bottles.
Kit-Kat is wearing the same dress that Miss M wore for her one year old pictures. They both have such serious expressions. Kit-Kat's expressions might be a little more serious than Miss M's and I didn't know that was possible. Her eyebrows are so telling.
The kids and teachers came out singing Happy Tea Day to you to the tune of Happy Birthday. The kids were so happy and excited.
Fake smile.
Natural face. I love them both.
Miss M and one of her best friends, Anwen. There are two girls she plays with every day and whom she loves to call her best friends. They are as sweet as Miss M.
The kids sang songs before we opened our snack boxes where we had pretzels, crackers, grapes, strawberries, lemonade and berry tea. They sang about four or five songs including "I'm a little tea pot" and "Rockin Robin". I had been wondering where she had learned "Rockin' Robin" as she'd been randomly singing it around the house.
We stayed a few minutes after tea ended to help the teachers clean up. Miss Nance loves holding Kit-Kat when I bring her to school. And she was more than willing to let the dads carry tables and tea supplies back inside while she cuddled the baby. Miss M and Mina played ring around Nance. She loved it b/c she loves them. I will Miss her so much as Miss M's teacher next year.
