Andrew, Nick and Delores braved taking the three girls to the football game in 95 degree weather. The girls held up pretty good and so did Grandma. The girls got all dressed for the game with accessories and all.
Miss M's been practicing singing her Iowa Fight Song all day every day. I would like to say I am exaggerating but I am not. She starts belting it out anywhere and everywhere. It's cute the first few times. I can't handle it much anymore. She switches between the Iowa Fight Song and the Cubs Song.
They arrived at the game a little earlier and took their picture with a Hawkeye sign. Big Willie, Cate and I traveled to Coralville also but not for the football game. We had to run to Scheels to pick up our packets for our bike ride the following day. Scheels has a lot of stuffed animals and Big Will saw a bear and wanted to go upstairs to see it. While we were hunting for the stuffed bear we found Camo Herky. Big Will was very unsure of Camo Herky.
After we ate lunch in the food court we bought tickets to ride the carousel. Big Will wanted to ride and since part of me felt bad for him that he was stuck with me for the day I agreed to buying tickets. He was terrified. He eventually wanted off the zebra and moved to a smaller horse. I don't think he liked it any more.
In the picture below the carousel isn't even moving.
Cate wasn't phased by the ride at all.
Then we threw a couple quarters in the big green dump truck. It rocked back and fourth for a minute and we called it a day.
Oh. Before we left Cate sat with Stewart Mouse. She looks like she belongs in Stewart's car.
Then we sped home (I will probably end up with a lot of speeding camera tickets) fast enough that I would get the kids down for a nap before they fell asleep in the car and my afternoon was ruined! We succeeded. It will be worth all those tickets that start pouring in.
