The cake

Miss M was adamant that we make Kit-Kat a cake for her birthday.  Kit-Kat's birthday fell on a Friday this year and we were leaving for Iowa first thing Friday morning.  So Thursday we made a cake from our Betty Crocker Cookbook.
We made two round cakes coloring one pink and one green.
Miss M informed me that the pink one tasted so much better than the green one.  She thinks I put in to much or too little green food coloring thus making it taste different.  I just go with it.
Then we stirred up orange frosting. I ran out of frosting before the cake was completely frosted. I also ran out of neon orange food coloring. I had to put lots of sprinkles on the sides of the cake to detract from the mismatching orange colors.
While we waited, ever so patiently, for Andrew to arrive home from work we played in the driveway with the hose. I tried to get them to water my (basically) dead flowers but that didn't get me very far.
Instead they poured cups of water down the driveway to create the Mississippi River.  I don't know why or how everyone got naked so fast. Thankfully, we don't see much of our neighbors.
Andrew finally arrived home about 30 minutes after he said he would be home! Kit-Kat was pretty uninterested initially.
Trying to pick the sprinkles off daintily.
 One finger in the cake
Finally one whole hand in the cake.
