Pre-Back to school fun!

In August there was a total solar eclipse that had EVERYONE all hyped up.  My friend, Bekah, bought us the appropriate eye wear so my kids retinas wouldn't burn up. There were a lot of gatherings around the area. Bekah and I decided to stay in the backyard and avoid all the crowds and chaos.  The kids have the attention span of ants and could have cared less. We didn't have a total eclipse. It didn't get too dark.  It got overcast dark so no one was too excited.  Miss M was at her friend A's house and not just missing from the picture.

New school clothes to try on.
The eclipse was on a Monday.  School started on a Wednesday. I let Miss M pick what we did for Tuesday.  Her last full day before she headed back to the daily grind of school.  She chose Chuck E. Cheese.  I knew I shouldn't have let her pick! I reluctantly agreed. I don't like Chuck E. Cheese.  I am the furthest thing from a germaphobe but that place just grosses me out.  We got there and realized the place had been remodeled.  It was cleaner than I remembered.  Bekah and her kids happened to be there at the same time.  We got to play with our friends and give Chuck E. Cheese all our money.

Joe and Tater
Miss M, Joe, Will and Tater.
Tater couldn't get anywhere and she was so serious.  It was hilarious. She loved it.
This bike goes up and down.  That's it. It was a hit.
The pony was also a hit.
We spent a lot of time playing skee-ball.  It was terrifying at times.  The kids would try to throw the ball and it would slam into the plexi-glass screen and come flying back at us.  It didn't deter them from playing over and over again.

This was some sort of "virtual-like" game. They sat in the chair and it rocked back and forth. I have no idea. I just like they are all together.
After the adventures at Chuck E. Cheese we went to school to drop off our school supplies and meet Miss M's teacher.  There are a few of her kindergarten classmates in her first grade class which helps with the transition.  Our neighbor, Lafayette, is in her class and sits at her table. The top picture is the kids at kindergarten drop off. The bottom picture is the kids at first grade drop off! Their personalities keep coming out!
We finalized the day with a trip to 7-Eleven for a Slushie. It's the kids favorite thing.  They can be so simple to please.
