The Sweet Taste of Victory

When the Borders boys get together there's always a bit of friendly competition. This year the ultimate party planner created the Borders Family Olympics. There were a lot of activities. Here is a run-down of competition activities.

1. Pull tissues out of the box one-by-one. Picture below was post competition as evidenced by the celebratory hug.

2. Put as many large marshmallows in ones mouth as possible. This was much more difficult than I had assumed. I thought I would do well. I have a big mouth and I like marshmallows. Nope. Not easy at all. Eventually I couldn't breathe and that's not cool.

It's event harder to breathe when other people are making you laugh.

The winner was not distracted by goofy nonsense.

3. Spell words with spaghetti-o's. Some used their fingers and weren't afraid to get dirty while others were afraid to get dirty and lost that round!

4. Team event. One partner was blind folded and dangled a donut on a string over their partner who was supposed to eat it. Again. I thought I would rock this event. What part of this event doesn't scream my name. I am the daughter of a professional donut maker. We forfeited minutes after the competition started. It was more than I could handle. Being slapped in the face with a sticky donut was not my idea of a fun time. Not surprisingly, a brother from Cedar Rapids won this event with a smile on his face.

5. Bouncing ping-pong balls onto peanut butter sandwhiches.

6. Knocking over pop cans with a yo-yo by shaking your hips!

7. Obstacle course. It started off with a bike ride!

8. Something with wrapping a team member in toilet paper. I missed it. Mama D substituted for me so I could man Miss M.

I am sure everyone is anxious to know which team won...there was an amazing winners basket full of Ohio themed products...

...and the winner was the green team. Yep. Drew and I. Victory really is sweet!!!

The Borders boys. All of them. A good looking group.
